A Note from our CEO:
As this new school year begins, I can’t help but feel excited. Every day, week, and month feels like a fresh start, a reminder that no matter where you are in your journey, there’s always room to grow, rise, and discover new possibilities.
What inspires me most is knowing that none of us are walking alone. Our BSLS family now stretches across 30 chapters in 14 states and Washington, D.C., but more than numbers, it’s the stories of resilience, leadership, and love that make us strong.
My hope for this year is that each of us, whether you’re a member, alum, donor, sponsor, volunteer, or supporter, chooses to believe in the power of what’s possible. Together, we are building something that gives the next generation not just hope, but tools, confidence, and community to change the world.
So as we step into this season, let’s carry courage, faith, and joy with us.

Youth with a mentor are 130% more likely to hold leadership positions and are more likely to advance in their careers (MENTOR, 2023).
At the same time, the CDC reports that 1 in 3 young adults experience symptoms of anxiety or depression, a public health crisis impacting classrooms and communities nationwide.
Through BSLS’s pillars of Mentorship, Mental Health, and Public Health, we’re bridging both gaps, giving young women access to role models, wellness tools, and supportive networks that empower them to thrive.
