Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month
As much as we love to celebrate the success and hard work of women, this month is also dedicated to those individuals who are affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS)🧡. MS is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, which consists of the brain and spinal cord. MS looks different for everybody; most people are able to continue to live a normal, while others may struggle. Although there is no found cure, doctors and researchers are continuing to work hard in providing treatments to help manage the symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.

Member Testimonial
For the month of March, we are recognizing an outstanding woman that has played a big role in Big Sister Little Sister through her leadership, initiative, and community service: Fredline Pierre! Fredline currently serves as our BSLS Director of Alumni Association and she also devotes her time in being a Leon County Educator. She was a part of the FAMU Chapter of BSLS where she served as Vice President and National Liaison. We asked Fredline “How has your journey with BSLS—from mentee/member to alumni and now a national volunteer—shaped your leadership and personal growth?”
“
My journey with BSLS, from mentee/member to now the Director of the Alumni Association, has shaped my leadership and personal growth by teaching me the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and responsibility. It has pushed me to develop effective communication and problem-solving skills, while learning to balance leadership with humility. Most importantly, BSLS has instilled in me a commitment to service and helping others grow, both personally and professionally.
”
