How to Prepare for the 4th Quarter of the Year

We hope that this school year and fall season has treated you well thus far. Each month, we will be introducing discussion topics and tips to help you prepare for the remainder of 2024 and finish the year with a BANG!

Our topic for the month of September is combatting burnout. Burnout can happen to many different people including students in college, young woman in the work force, mothers caring for their children, and many more. Sometimes these situations can become overwhelming eventually leading to burnout. Some tips to combat burnout and achieve resiliency are:

  • Get active. Whether you are exercising, going on nature walks, or spending time with friends, find ways to disconnect from the difficulties of life by staying active. Not only are you relieving stress, but you are also staying healthy.

  • Do not neglect your sleep. Ladies we need our beauty sleep! Your brain needs rest. For best results in succeeding in your classes and in the work place, be sure to get plenty of rest.

  • Have a self-care routine. We all need a time/day to refresh ourselves. Whether you take yourself on a date, meditate, rest, or plan for the day ahead, be sure that you are taking care of yourselves.

  • Seek campus resources. Your campus should have counselors and mentors that you can utilize for further guidance or someone to talk to to help you combat burnout. Most, if not all, campuses mental health resources are free so be sure to look into it for further assistance.
