BSLS Is Springing Into April

We Need Your Help To Make It Happen.

A Note from our Founder:

As you likely know by now, Big Sister Little Sister is all about empowerment. This month, we are celebrating that in two forms: with our volunteers who empower us to create and execute our programs through Volunteer Appreciation Month, and with our members as a part of Financial Literacy Month.

Both of these important aspects allow us to empower young women to be their best selves in our programs, whether that be through new knowledge gained with a mentor in our mentoring program, or through an event that reaches out to their wider community and is sustained not only by their chapter, but by the volunteers who help make it happen.

As we move into the second quarter of the year, we’ve had a renewed focus on putting words into action through dollars raised and hours worked and are looking to grow both through the rest of the year.

So, as we think about the power that the young women in our programs gain as we work with them, we also encourage you to think about what it takes to make that happen. We are so thankful for all of our supporters, and we hope to continue to grow with your help.

We are moving into a busy time of year as graduation is upon us and we thank you for joining us on the ride!

What We’ve Been Up To:

Last month we embraced the beautiful spring weather and hosted events both online and in-person with the help of generous donations of both money and time.

Our sisters joined us in person for our Houston Easter Egg Hunt which was an amazing success and joined us online at our virtual workshop on Navigating Challenge hosted by Andrea Adrade.

Thank you again to Andrea for giving your precious time to sharing your experience with our community.

Don’t forget, our Sweet 16 is coming up and we are celebrating in Orlando, Florida! Tickets drop on April 29 and you can keep your eye on our socials for more purchase info.

Join us for our brand new webinar next week to celebrate the end of Financial Literacy Month on April 30 at 6:30 PM EST! We’ll learn all about how to create SMART financial goals and empower your financial choices.

Chapter of The Month:

This month we’re throwing it out to our Texas Southern University Chapter for their help last month with our Easter Egg Hunt.

The chapter is one of our longest standing and these sisters are still going strong under the leadership of Nia Burton, hosting events like Sister to Sister week and volunteering with us at nationwide events.

Don’t Forget:

As it’s National Volunteer Appreciation Month, you can still join as a volunteer and be celebrated while making a difference in a young woman’s life.
