A Note from our Founder:

As we head toward the end of March, we’ve been honored to celebrate Women’s History Month surrounded by so many who inspire us. This includes the brilliant mentors who are a part of our programs, those who support our organization behind the scenes, and those who support in other ways such as giving and cheerleading all of us as we bring this vision to life.

Over the past few months, our members have been busier than ever while settling into the first few months of the new year, and are about to start one of our signature programs, Hear Our Voice, this month. This includes all of the new members our chapters have recently welcomed, who we are excited to have join our BSLS family.

All of these women have come into our community through various ways, but they all help support us by donating time, resources, and connections. For that we are forever grateful and we not only honor them this month, but every month.

Chapter of The Month:

As we reflect on the meanings behind Women’s History Month, we are excited to honor Warren Easton Charter High School as our chapter of the month!

These ladies made history as our first-ever high school chapter and are paving the way as we add more. Their careers are ahead of them, and we can’t wait to support them through college. In the meantime, they are making waves at their school by hosting Therapy Thursdays. We welcome their new E-board and can’t wait to see what other changes they make under the leadership of their president, Shantay Hill.

We are excited to highlight members who have important updates in their lives. Don’t forget, you can always submit your exciting announcements to be featured in our next newsletter.

Please join us for our 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt! We are still looking for volunteers to help us put on this exciting event on Saturday, March 30 and your assistance would be meaningful not only to us, but to our Houston community.
